Blazers pull away from Pistons to complete road sweep

by Kevin Nesgoda

After a five-point win against the Tampa Bay Raptors, the Portland Trail Blazers continued their road trip in Detroit, where they faced the last-place Pistons.

Portland were without Nassir Little and Zach Collins, but an otherwise-healthy squad for this game. The Pistons were missing quite a few guys:

It’s been a while since Mason Plumlee was a Blazer, but he still played like it was a revenge game. He finished with 18 points.

Jerami Grant had a blazing hot first half for Detroit, scoring 17 points on 7/11 shooting. Detroit led by 1 at half. He would finish with 30.

Portland leapt out to a quick run in the third, and it stuck for the rest of the game.

Dame led all scorers with 33 points, while CJ (4/8 from three) added 24. Melo and RoCo (4/5 from three) both had 16, while Powell had 14.

Enes Kanter added a nice 10 points and eight rebounds from the bench while going 4/4 from the field.

This completed a road sweep for the Blazers, their longest in almost a decade (2013). While this was a win against a fairly inferior opponent, the Blazers took care of business.
