Late Monday night/early Tuesday morning, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson sleepily announced on social media that he and the team have agreed to a new deal.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the deal is a 4-year extension for $140 million, including a $65 million signing bonus, per a source. The deal would make Wilson the highest paid player in the NFL.

Wilson had given the team a deadline of midnight at the end of April 15th to come to an agreement. The deadline had passed with little word other than the persistent recent rumors that Wilson had wanted to play elsewhere, likely with the New York Giants.
