NHL Seattle launches fan site, asks for input

NHL Seattle launched a new fan website as a new way of engaging with hockey fans in the Pacific Northwest. The new site includes season ticket deposit holder profiles, a timeline of events, and polls around fan experience.

If you’ve been champing at the bit to tell the NHL Seattle what to do when it comes to things like the team name, now’s your chance. Fans can now give their input on things like the goal celebration sound (the ferry horn, obviously) and team colors on the fan site. There are seven polls total and a text box to add comments, so let your opinion be known.

The site is also a HUB for information regarding major upcoming announcements and other events. It looks like we can expect details around team name and ticket prices in the fall. CEO and Team President Tod Leiweke is also hosting an AMA live on Facebook on May 31 at 11:30 a.m.

Fan experience and input are important to the new Seattle NHL team. Back in January, Leiweke told ESPN that, “the fans are going to be involved in every decision.” The organization has been ramping up fan engagement lately. Earlier this year, Leiweke met with season ticket holders in January to get their take on logo design and other things important to the fan experience. We will likely see more outreach as we get closer to puck drop in 2021.

For those of you keeping track of official Seattle NHL hashtags, this website launch adds a new one: #LiveHockey. After the NHL officially granted Seattle a franchise, the organization started using #ReturnToHockey. Keep an eye on both to get the latest Seattle NHL news!

If you voted for anything other than ferry horn for goal celebration, I don’t even know what you’re doing with your life.

People who voted for not that should be strapped in front of a ferry horn until they change their mind.

Minimum 25 horn blows before they can be removed.
